Civilian Identity

Name: Pamela Isley
Age/Date of Birth: February 15
Affiliation: Unaffiliated
Location: Gotham City
Occupation: Botanist

Skills:
Botany - Pamela has a Ph.D. in Botany. She specializes in creating new plant species and plant/animal hybrids.
Toxicology - Pamela is an expert in Toxicology and she has spent many years studying the usage of toxins when administered to a human.

Overview:
Sweet little Pamela Isley. Always the shy, quiet girl in class. The one that would never raise her hand to answer a question and would always blush and look away if a boy so much as talked to her. Coming from an abusive homelife, it was of no surprise that she should shrink away from most human contact. She spent most of her days hiding away within her mother's large garden so that she would not have to be around when her father came home in one of his drunken rages. In the garden she took pleasure in talking with the flowers and the plants and she swore that there were times when she could hear them talking back to her.

Pamela grew and finally managed to escape the reign of terror her father had over her when she went away to a university in Seattle to study botanical biochemistry. While she was there, she met Dr. Jason Woodrue, one of her professors that shared her passion and love for all things botanical. In him she found a mentor and someone whom she believed genuinely seemed to care about her. He worked alongside of her, coaxing her out into the open and helping the shy young woman to bloom.

Unfortunately this tender affection was all for his own means. Dr. Woodrue seduced Pamela and started a series of experimentations on her - injecting her with poisons and toxins of various kinds to see how her body would react to them. Twice she was nearly killed by these experiments which were steadily beginning to drive her to a state of insanity. However, she did not run. She stayed with the crazed professor because she believed that he loved her.

However, when word got out about his experimentations, Dr. Jason Woodrue fled from Seattle and Pamela was left enraged and broken by his betrayal. However, Jason Woodrue had opened up a part of Isley that had long lay dormant and it was not long before she was dating another man. But when that boyfriend turned up dead from poison, Pamela was forced to flee Seattle - ultimately settling in Gotham City.

Years passed and Pamela continued on with the experimentations that Dr. Jason Woodrue began. She tried the usage of various kinds of poisons and toxins within her skin and even created a pheremone that no man could resist. Striving to expand her plant life into the dark city of Gotham, Pamela Isley turned to a life of crime and took on the name "Poison Ivy".

Alter Ego

Name: Poison Ivy
Affiliation: Rogue's Gallery
Base of Operations: Gotham City

Powers/Skills:
Chlorokinesis: The ability to control plants with her mind.
Toxic Immunity: Ivy has built up an immunity to all toxins, bacteria, and viruses
Toxikinesis a deliberate overdose of plant and animal based toxins into her blood stream that make her touch deadly. Ivy can create the most potently powerful floral toxins in Gotham City. Often these are secreted from her lips and administered via a kiss. They come in a number of varieties, from mind controlling drugs to instantly fatal necrotics. Her skin is toxic as well, although contact with it is usually not fatal.
Pheromone Control Ivy is known to be able to seduce men and women alike, often using pheromones to do so
Proficient Combatant Poison Ivy's athletic abilities have grown over the course of her career. She has learned a limited style of martial arts fighting, is proficient at climbing and leaping, and is a strong and fast swimmer.

Weaknesses:
Mental Instability - Like so many of the other members of the Rogue's Gallery, Ivy suffers from a considerable mental instability. Though, of course, if you were to ask her, she would tell you that she's not crazy at all.
Flora - Ivy draws a great deal of her powers and protection from the floral life around her. She weakens when not around them for a long period of time (as when she was placed into Arkham before her escape).
Injections - Ivy relies on the injection of toxins into her body to keep herself strong and powerful. Without these injections, she greatly weakens and loses the green color of her skin. It is also a very painful experience for her (think a drug-addict cut off cold-turkey from their addiction).

Overview:
Poison Ivy's life of crime started off small. A little break-in here...a bit of mischief there. Nothing that would have drawn any real attention. However, when she found out about Wayne Enterprises deciding to build over a small park where a rare, endangered species of flower grew that she'd been personally working to cultivate, Ivy was furious. She decided that something needed to change. She had a vision of a lush, green and beautiful Eden where Gotham once stood. But in order to even begin such an endeavor, she would need some power and backbone behind her.

Enter Harvey Dent. Gotham's rising hopeful District Attourney.

Harvey and Pamela Isley bonded rather nicely and, though she was certainly using him to ultimately meet her own goals and objectives, Ivy couldn't deny that the attraction she'd felt towards the young D.A. hopeful had not been entirely a facade. There was undeniable passion there. They'd dated for nearly four months, during which time she'd worked her womanly wiles over on him. She got him to agree to cease the spread of Wayne Enterprise over her beautiful gardens...but unfortunately, there were still consequences to be paid for the damage already done. It seemed that things were going well until an unfortunate incident took place after one of their lovely dinner dates...and for some reason, Harvey had never been able to forgive her for trying to poison him that night.

After she agreed to give up the antidote to the Bat, Harvey turned her over to his care. She was placed on trial for attempted murder and was found guilty. Harvey Dent was in the courtroom that day and barely even glanced her way. However, when the verdict was read and she was being escorted from the court, she paused just long enough to look over her shoulder his way...and blow a kiss.

She was sent to Arkham. True, she nearly killed Harvey with her poison...but he'd returned the favor in allowing her to be taken away to the Asylum. That cold, dark Asylum. Where there truly was no sign of life. She'd been left there in the darkness to wilt away. Her skin had shifted and changed. Losing the soft green tint she'd started to take on, she'd been nearly a stark white. The toxins left her body and she'd gone through an awful, painful state of withdrawal. She'd struggled to hang on to every breath that she took. Weakened and alone, she'd prayed daily for an end to her torment.

But then one night there was a mass break-out in Arkham and many of what would later be called the "Rogue's Gallery" managed their escape at that point - including Ivy. She could still remember barely being able to crawl her way out of the Asylum. So weak and weary. She'd pulled herself into an old gutter and awaited the oncoming day, hoping that she would make it through the night.

And she had. She made it through that night...and the next night...and the night after that one. Each day she would sit out in the sun and simply soak up its rays, feeling it rejuvenate her again and restoring her energy. Giving her back the life that Arkham had stolen from her.

And that day she'd made a vow to herself...that she would never go back.

Poison Ivy was alive and well in Gotham City now...and it was time to see a start to her vision for a new Eden.
